Holidays will be brighter
for two families as they move
into their new homes



“It was exciting working on my own home,” said Herrera





The holiday season became a little brighter for two families last week as they received the keys to their new homes through Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City. It was a day the families had been anxiously waiting for and were all smiles as they stood before the crowd gathered on Webster Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas to not only welcome them into their new homes but to also show the finished homes they and many others worked on in the summer and fall of 2019.

“La música es mi primer amor”, fue la declaración de Lupe M. González cuando realicé una entrevista con él en 2002. La entrevista fue una de las trece que realicé como parte de “Voces del pasado: los mexicoamericanos cuentan sus historias” (proyecto de historia oral financiado por el Consejo de Humanidades de Kansas).
